White Fillings

Most of us will be familiar with fillings that we have had in our teeth, and most likely they will be made of amalgam (black metal filling). Although these fillings are strong, the downside of these fillings is the colour. Each time we smile or laugh we reveal this dark patch in our mouths.

The good news is that there are now tooth coloured fillings available to replace the old style amalgam versions. Another advantage of these fillings is that they are mercury free, and as there is still some debate about the safety of mercury in fillings our patients will have the peace of mind that they no longer have mercury in their mouths.

Composite material is used to fill the tooth after decay is removed to restore the tooth to its original shape. Composite is very durable and has the ability to restore tooth functionality and gives a perfect aesthetic result. Once the composite filling is set nobody will be able to tell you have had a filling.
